A Bridge Between the Campus and the Community

Acting as a bridge between the campus and the community, the IU South Bend Advisory Board provides advice as IU South Bend seeks to meet its mission to serve the region.

A Proud Family Legacy

It was a proud moment for Indiana University South Bend alumna Ivy Butler, BS’O9, Elementary Education, as she watched her two daughters, Tequisha Butler and Natasha McCallister, walk across the commencement stage to receive their degrees from her alma mater last spring.

Here for our Military Students

Dan Walsh served in the Navy for 20 years, flying maritime patrol aircraft tracking Soviet submarines during the Cold War for part of his service. When he retired in 2005, he had a strong desire to contribute to the community here. After teaching in schools in Chicago and South Bend, he decided to earn a master’s in educational leadership at Indiana University South Bend and graduated in May 2021.

For the Health of Our Community

The Vera Z. Dwyer College of Health Sciences not only educates future health care professionals, it also houses two spots for on-campus health care: the Dental Clinic and the Health & Wellness Center. Both clinics specialize in providing care for IU South Bend students, faculty, staff, as well as the broader community.

Are you battle ready?

In its fourth year, the Battle of the Decades has made a big impact on students who have received scholarships thanks to the campaign’s success, and promises to continue that impact well into the future.
