Victor Kamwendo, B.A.’14 (Theatre), participated in a series of protests across the Los Angeles area in May and June 2020. He documented the experience with his iPhone to show others what he was seeing and capture the power of the movement. While most protests were peaceful, the LAPD did shoot rubber bullets at protesters on May 30.
Victor is a Malawian, American-based stage, film and television actor and has appeared on SWAT on CBS and in the film The Zoo, that was screened at the 2020 Urban Film Festival and nominated for best short film. Victor also serves on the board of Kusewera, a non-profit community center and school in Malawi, Africa, empowering and educating children through active and creative play programs.
