Ken Perrin

Former Chancellor of Indiana University South Bend Ken Perrin has died at the age of 80. Perrin ended a distinguished career of leadership in higher education by serving as chancellor at IU South Bend from 1997 to 2002. Before coming to South Bend he was president of West Chester University, Pennsylvania; president of the Council on Postsecondary Education in Washington, DC; and president of the University of Hawaii. He died on February 8 at the Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, Md. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; daughter, Lynnsey; son, Steven; and grandchildren.

William P. Hojnacki

Former professor and dean at IU South Bend William P. Hojnacki has died at the age of 75. He was a leader on campus and in the community. Best known as the long-time dean of the former School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at IU South Bend, he led the school for nearly two decades. Hojnacki was also a Lundquist Fellow.

Hojnacki graduated from South Bend Central High School and went on to graduate with a bachelor of science from Western Michigan University. He then received his masters and PhD from the University of Notre Dame. He was a former member of the South Bend Community School Corporation Board, Northern Indiana Historical Society Board of Trustees, and the South Bend Redevelopment Commission.
